Hi! I’m a second year Economics & Global Sustainable Development undergraduate at the University of Warwick.
It took a lot of hard work to get to where I am, as academia didn’t always come naturally to me. Hence, I understand the need for tailor made sessions to suit everyone’s individual learning style. Be it visual, games, notes based or mind maps, I have session ideas that have you covered. Through real life examples and more tangible explanations, I’ll be able to make the more complicated ideas more accessible and also fun to learn!
I’ve done well in my exams (getting into a top secondary school at 11+, all A* at GCSE and 2A* +1A at ALevels) so I can also be of help to anyone looking for tips with regards to exam preparation, targeting our sessions towards being able to get full marks in exam papers.
But, it’s important to also be engaged whilst studying, so our sessions will be light hearted and informal – after all, you learn best when you’re relaxed and actually wanting to learn 🙂
We can either have one-off targeted sessions or a more regular programme, depending on the support you feel you need.
Our first session will always start with us discussing what you feel you need to work on, how you prefer to study and what your goal is. Then we can engage in sessions that we know you can make the most out of. There will some required prep before the next session, so as to ensure learning is consistent and not just in our sessions. It will also make sure each session is as productive as possible, as we can work on corrections.
Progress will be measured by quick and regular “recap reviews”. THESE ARE NOT TESTS! But, they’ll help us both keep track of what’s working and what we need to focus on.
We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the TiC team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach. About 1 in 10 becomes a tutor on our site.
