Hi there! I’m Anthony and I’m a 2nd year medical student at Cambridge University. I am happy to help you in maths, further maths, biology, chemistry and physics up to A level, with first hand experience in the linear qualifications. I also have a few strategies in place to help you get those top marks, having gained straight A*s across all my subjects at both GCSE and A level.
Whether it is getting to grips with the core concepts or improving exam technique to get those tricky marks, I can help you achieve the grade that you want to. If you are looking to stretch yourself further, I participated in all the maths and science olympiad competitions in secondary school, and represented the UK in the International Chemistry Olympiad, so am happy to go through olympiad material to help you stand out from the crowd.
In addition, I know just how stressful it can be when applying to medical school, and can help you with preparation for the UKCAT/BMAT entrance exams and with writing that all important personal statement. I also have a wealth of resources to help you with interview practice, be it for panel, MMI or Oxbridge-style interviews. In addition to Cambridge, I received offers from UCL, Imperial and Queen Mary’s, so if you are thinking of those universities especially, feel free to ask me about my own personal experience. If you have any more questions, please get in touch 🙂
My lessons will be structured primarily on what you want to learn or cover, be it core content or exam technique. I will prepare materials that are specific to your exam board and your syllabus using both self-made notes and a wide range of resources I have gathered through my A level studies.
I strongly believe in the power of past paper questions, and so will use those as a key part of exam preparation or testing content knowledge, with a focus on how you can write what is written in the markscheme, hitting all the key marking points. In sessions related to applying to medicine, I will help you to strengthen your own personal application rather than tell you what to do, to give you the confidence to be able to apply for those competitive places and showcase your own merits both on paper and at interview.
We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the TiC team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach. About 1 in 10 becomes a tutor on our site.
