I am currently studying physics at the University of Warwick and am in my second year. I was always interested in the subjects at school and knew I wanted to take it further at university. Maths and physics are so closely linked and I find it fascinating that things that are still being discovered in physics today use some of the maths developed hundreds of years ago. I want to be able to help other people be able to enjoy the subjects as much as I do. The exam period for me was made a lot easier by structuring my revision timetable and also with reassurance that I’m on track from teachers and I’m lucky that I had a maths teacher who had my interests at heart.
I know how useful it is for some people to hear that they’re doing well and I feel like a tutor can help massively with that, especially during exams. I knew that I had to do well in my exams in order to get into the university that I loved and had worked so hard to get an offer from which also helped motivate me through A levels.
As well as my degree, I am also grade 8 flute and am part of the Wind Orchestra at Warwick. This is a hobby I’ve done since I was seven years old and has always been enjoyable for me.
Students under my tutelage will have the choice to either approach me with a topic specific query or problem in their chosen subject or for me to work through a topic/unit/exam paper with them. I can provide overviews of topics before exam periods to ensure students are ready for upcoming exams. Students will also be provided with instructions on how to timetable their revision and effective time management. Furthermore, I will teach my students how to make efficient notes and also exam technique regarding past papers. I will also teach students general knowledge of how to approach an exam in reference to exam length, layout of paper and question structuring.
