Hi there, my name is Luke and I am a third year medical student at Glasgow University.
Before I started my medical studies, I had been studying Actuarial Science at Cass Business School in London, where I received awards for scoring within the top 10% of my year. My performance at school was good, but never stellar. During my time at university, I have made a concerted effort change that, learning not only the material, but also skills that have helped me study more effectively and be more organised. I believe these are important skills that have been incorrectly been overlooked at school, and it would be my passion to share what I have learnt with your children to give them the tools for success.
During my lessons, I hope to deliver engaging, focused teaching to students, addressing areas of weakness to deliver a solid grounding in the topic. From there I will continue to expand upon this base, using relevant and stimulating study aids to ensure the formation of knowledge that lasts.
I have a range of experience teaching, ranging from children in primary schools, to delivering revision lectures to my peers at university. Through understanding my student’s study methods and habits, I will adapt my teaching style and the resources I use to ensure the student gains as much as possible from my sessions.
We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the TiC team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach. About 1 in 10 becomes a tutor on our site.
