Hi there! Let me introduce myself! I graduated this past summer from the University of Edinburgh with a 2.1 in Medical Sciences and I’d love to share my passion for science to you!
I aim to shed a new angle on topics you’re covering in class that you aren’t so fond of in a fun and interactive way so that hopefully you grow to love them! (Or at least find them interesting) You are the leader of your own learning. We will be ensuring that we cover the syllabus for the exam board test you’re working towards! I am very flexible and will do my best to suit your schedule and adapt to your learning style.
Feel free to shoot me a message anytime, I’d be happy to have a chat (super informal – no pressure!) for you to get to know me a bit and see if you think I’m the right fit for you! Can’t wait to hear from you!
I aim to encourage student-led learning as much as possible. The student lets me know ahead of the session what he/she would like to cover in the session, and I prepare the appropriate materials using sources from the appropriate examination board that he/she will be sitting. Especially with topics like chemistry calculations, I’ll assign a few questions as ‘homework’ just to ensure the concepts have been fully understood and to allow for further explanation and exploration in the following session if necessary.
We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the TiC team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach. About 1 in 10 becomes a tutor on our site.
