This has equipped me with the tools I need to support my students. In addition to my studies, I was very active within the University drama scene — a passion I continue to explore now that I have left Cambridge.
I have written, directed and performed a number of hows, namely comedies, and I believe this experience has greatly informed my understand and appreciation of the performing arts. This makes me especially well-suited to teaching students about drama, an integral part of the English curriculum. I am a flexible and adaptive tutor who believes in tailoring each session to the individual student’s needs. Lessons can be content-focused, i.e., we can explore specific texts, authors and genres in-depth, or strategy-based, meaning we focus on examination technique, or methods of analysing poetry, for example.
My tutoring sessions closely mimic the supervision style of teaching used by Cambridge academics. As such, I would always encourage students to bring some examples of their work to the session to make the most out of our time together. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
