I am a recent graduate in MSc Neuroscience at the University of Oxford. Science is my huge passion and biology is especially fascinating to me. Having studied biotechnology and neuroscience allowed me to develop deep expert knowledge in almost all areas of biology, from genetics and biochemistry through human biology to zoology. I am also widely engaged in preparing students to study in the UK and helping with the applications (Oxbridge preparations, personal statements, etc.) I have been tutoring students at almost all levels of education for almost 5 years now. Whether these are A levels, GCSEs, university, IB, early education or others, I am eager to guide you through the complexity of the subject and help you achieve not only the results you expect but also provide you with a deep understanding of the topics covered and passion to the subject.
My lessons will be structured by allowing lots of time for the student to ask questions to help the learning process. I will also end every lesson with a useful task/question for the student to answer to help consolidate their understanding prior to the next lesson. I hope progress will become apparent, but I think regular mini tests are also important to ensure understanding and help show areas that can be improved upon. Allowing the student to go over material in their own time after the lesson I believe is key for them to develop a solid understanding of the subject.
We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the TiC team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach. About 1 in 10 becomes a tutor on our site.
