Hi there! I am a recent Oxford University graduate – with a degree in Philosophy, Politics & Economics. Am currently living in London and working at a renewable private equity fund.
I have been a professional tutor for the last 5 years – and am passionate about making sure my students achieve the best of their ability. My specializations include English, Economics, History, Maths, Physics and University Admissions essays and exams. Together with my students, I have helped students successfully apply for Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, and Yale, and achieve exam results of A*A*A and 42 IB points. My teaching style adapts to the student – everyone learns differently.
However, the constant is the need for hard work – I will put in as much as time as is needed, and want my students to do the same. If my experience, track record, and background appeal – do get in touch! I look forward to hearing from you.
My lessons will be structured by allowing lots of time for the student to ask questions to help the learning process. I will also end every lesson with a useful task/question for the student to answer to help consolidate their understanding prior to the next lesson. I hope progress will become apparent, but I think regular mini tests are also important to ensure understanding and help show areas that can be improved upon. Allowing the student to go over material in their own time after the lesson I believe is key for them to develop a solid understanding of the subject.
We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the TiC team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach. About 1 in 10 becomes a tutor on our site.
