Schoolchildren to be offered sleep lessons after rise in disorders

Sleeplessness among young people in the UK has been described as a “hidden public health disaster” by the British Medical Journal.

According to the Journal, sleeplessness can have a greater negative impact on a child’s wellbeing than bullying and overuse of technology.

One solution seems to be offering “sleep lessons” to the young, showing them ways of getting to sleep and the sleep requirements of various ages.
